Parameter Estimation of a Grid-Tied Inverter Using In Situ Pseudo-Random Perturbation Sources

Inverters are playing an increasingly important role in the electrical utility grid due to proliferation of renewable energy sources. Obtaining inverter models with accurate parameters is, therefore, essential for studies and design. In this paper, a methodology estimate output impedance residential grid-tied is proposed. The first verified through simulation. A sensitivity analysis conducted determine influence filter controller on inverter. simulated impedance, voltage, current used parameter estimation obtain parameters. It shown that up seven can be estimated accurately. proposed further investigated practical experiment. Two perturbation sources, pseudo-random binary sequence impulse perturbation, used, turn, perturb delivers 1.6 kW aim obtaining its impedance. impedances obtained both sources compared. source applied series between under test allows best inverter’s black-box modeling approach aimed at estimating analytical transfer function from experimental data also discussed.
